Programme Introduction

A unique tailor-made week-end, one year Management Programme for owner-entrepreneurs and their family members who would like to equip themselves with the knowledge of modern management concepts and practices. This knowledge will enable them to meet the new age challenges and seize emerging business opportunities. The week-end structure of the programme ideally suits those who are already involved in the running of their family businesses. The FMBA Programme trains the students to act as CHANGE AGENTS for their family businesses, where two or more generations work together.

Programme Design

Programme Objectives:

This pioneering initiative of SVKM’s NMIMS – Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management, aims at facilitating transition from traditional to contemporary management practices in Family- Managed SME’s. The objective of the programme is to equip members of business families with the knowledge of modern management concepts & practices.

Pedagogy:

  • Lectures and presentations by learned and experienced faculty form the core of the programme, supplemented by handouts and assignments. Presentations by guest speakers, special seminars, outbound training, factory visits, presentations by past-student entrepreneurs, are all integral parts of the programme.
  • Students are given assignments in some core management subjects as a learning exercise.
  • A detailed project on one’s own business with a SWOT analysis. This is a COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT.
  • Helps participants to prepare a comprehensive document on the various facets of their family business.
  • Presentation of projects by students in the class, offers a great learning opportunity to all participants.
